The Ruijie Reyee RG-RAP6262g AX1800 is a high-performance outdoor Wi-Fi 6 access point designed to bridge the gap between industrial-grade durability and modern aesthetic design. Often referred to by its distinct “UFO” shape, this device is engineered to provide wide-area wireless coverage for challenging environments such as public parks, swimming pools, outdoor warehouses, and large residential estates.
Industrial-Grade Build and “UFO” Design
The most striking feature of the RG-RAP6262g is its spherical, artistic chassis. Beyond looks, this design serves a functional purpose, housing four high-gain internal omnidirectional antennas. Unlike traditional outdoor APs with external “rabbit ear” antennas that can be prone to wind damage or tampering, the integrated antenna array is protected within a completely sealed, IP68-rated enclosure.
IP68 rating
This IP68 rating is significant; it indicates that the device is not only protected against heavy rain and dust but is also moisture-proof and flame-retardant. It is built to operate in extreme climates, with a temperature tolerance ranging from -30°C to 65°C. To further ensure longevity during storms, the unit features 6 kV lightning protection, safeguarding the internal circuitry from voltage surges.
Technical Performance and Wi-Fi 6
As an AX1800 Wi-Fi 6 device, the RG-RAP6262g delivers significantly higher efficiency and lower latency than previous generations. It offers a combined throughput of up to 1775 Mbps, split between two bands:
5 GHz Band: Up to 1201 Mbps.
2.4 GHz Band: Up to 574 Mbps
MU-MIMO and OFDMA
The inclusion of MU-MIMO and OFDMA technologies allows the AP to handle up to 256 simultaneous client connections (with a recommended high-performance limit of 100), making it ideal for high-density outdoor venues. In open-air conditions, the device provides an impressive coverage radius of up to 300 meters on the 5 GHz band and 100 meters on the 2.4 GHz band.
Connectivity
The hardware includes two Gigabit Ethernet ports, providing flexibility for “daisy-chaining” other devices like IP cameras or secondary access points. Power is typically delivered via 802.3at PoE+, though it also supports a standard 12V DC input for localized power.
Smart Management
Management is handled through the Ruijie Cloud or the Reyee mobile app, which offers free lifetime cloud services. This allows administrators to perform remote monitoring, wireless optimization, and one-click “Self-Organizing Network” (SON) setup. The device also supports Reyee Mesh, enabling it to connect wirelessly to other Reyee APs to expand coverage without the need for extensive data cabling.
