The TP-Link TL-WA850RE is a compact, wall-mounted 300Mbps Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender designed to eliminate “dead zones” by boosting your existing wireless signal. The range extender operates on the 2.4GHz frequency band, supporting IEEE 802.11b/g/n standards to ensure broad compatibility with any standard router or access point.
Maximum signal rate of 300Mbps
The 850RE delivers a maximum signal rate of 300Mbps, ideal for smooth HD video streaming, online gaming, and heavy web browsing. The TP-Link Range Extender features two internal antennas optimized to strengthen signal reliability and coverage throughout a home or small office.
10/100Mbps Ethernet port (RJ45)
The inclusion of a single 10/100Mbps Ethernet port (RJ45) on the Universal Wi-Fi Range Extender allows the extender to act as a wireless adapter. This “Ethernet Bridge” functionality lets you connect wired-only devices, such as smart TVs, gaming consoles, or Blu-ray players, directly to your Wi-Fi network without running long cables.
one-button Setup
Setting up the TL-WA850RE is straightforward thanks to the one-button setup. By pressing the WPS button on your router followed by the Range Extender (RE) button on the device.
Smart Signal Indicator Light
Finding the perfect placement is made easy by the Smart Signal Indicator Light. It features five LEDs that display the current signal strength received from the main router. For optimal performance, it is recommended to place the extender in a spot where at least three lights are blue.
TP-Link Tether App
Users can manage the TP-Link TL-WA850RE 300Mbps remotely via the TP-Link Tether App, available for iOS and Android. The app provides access to features like Night Mode, which allows you to schedule the LEDs to turn off so they don’t disturb your sleep.
Wall-plug design
The miniature size and wall-plug design make it easy to deploy and move flexibly between rooms without needing to reconfigure the settings, as the device remembers previously paired networks.
Its low power consumption (approx. 3W) ensures it is an energy-efficient addition to your home networking setup.
